As usual, many people joined in the fun from Aug. 11-14.
Fort Resolution resident Rosy Bjornson said Deninoo Days is an extremely important part of the community.
"It's important to have people together, family and friends," Bjornson said.
Deninoo Days activities involve the whole community, especially youngsters.
Bjornson's daughter, six-year-old Chaslyn McKay, said she enjoyed all of the fun.
"I like it because I can go in the parade," she said, referring to a procession of decorated bicycles, ATVs and strollers held each year.
Dozens of people attended the assembly from Yellowknife, Fort Smith, Lutsel K'e and Fort Fitzgerald, Alta., and many joined in the Deninoo Days activities.
The carnival is sponsored by the recreation department of Deninoo Community Council.
The carnival features such events as talent shows, a poker rally, a slow-pitch tournament, a pancake breakfast, and traditional games like wood-splitting, axe-throwing and nail pounding.
Another highlight is the traditional challenge, featuring a running, biking and canoeing relay race.
