Repulse Bay (Dec 14/05) - The breakfast program at Tusarvik school in Repulse Bay received some good news recently.

The popular program, which is utilized by about one-third of the school's student body on a daily basis, lost its hamlet funding through the Brighter Futures program earlier this year.

But school principal Leonie Aissaoui said she recently received an e-mail from a person in Australia who donated $2,000 this past year and is expressing interest in donating the same amount this year.

"He wants to see photos and find out how the money was spent, but I haven't heard from him since he sent the first e-mail," said Aissaoui.

The Northern store has chipped in by giving the program a 20 per cent discount instead of the previous 10 per cent, while the Repulse detachment of the RCMP is trying to help by submitting a proposal to a national RCMP funding program.
